Five Favorite Movies

The following is a list of five of my favorite movies from my DVD collection. (In no particular order.)

1) American Hustle. Definitely a great story with a great cast! It’s also one of my favorite Jennifer Lawrence movies. She has a real knack for playing crazy multilayered women.

2) Almost Famous. This movie has it all! It’s got an awesome story, an amazing cast, great cinematography, and lots of rock and roll! Kate Hudson and Patrick Fugit make a very dynamic onscreen duo.

3) The Perks of Being a Wallflower. This movie is definitely underrated. Not only is the story true to life it’s also very hyper-realistic. By which I mean it’s great at pointing out how awesome life can be if we just allow ourselves to enjoy it. Not to mention, the entire cast is superb and the soundtrack adds to the overall mood of each character.

4) Step Brothers. On his own… Will Ferrell is a comedic giant but when combined with the talents of John C. Reilly new and uncharted peaks of comedy are reached and sustained. This will always be one of my favorites! No matter how many people consider it to be too “lowbrow.”

5) The Dark Knight. Most of the general movie going audience didn’t begin to care about the Batman movie franchise until the premiere of The Dark Knight. Not only did Christian Bale make an excellent Bruce Wayne/Batman — Heath Ledger as Joker was/is a force to be reckoned with. To this day, his performance is still talked about by DC Comics fans worldwide!

These are just five favorites from my DVD collection. I have many more favorites that I’ll write about at a later date.
