Ghostbusters Movie Review

Ghostbusters is an interesting take on an old favorite. There’s nothing too surprising about it. Yes, the all female Ghostbusters offer up a more modern dynamic but it ultimately made me realize that the original movie was actually quite innovative.

Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy make an interesting comedic duo but they are mostly at their funniest when reacting to various encounters with paranormal apparitions (ghosts). Believe it or not, the funniest character throughout the entire movie is Chris Hemsworth as their bumbling receptionist, Kevin. Who knew he had such great comedic timing?

There’s also some nice cameos by the original cast.

Overall it’s not a bad movie but it’s not a great movie. Once you get past the fact that it’s not a direct continuation of the original franchise it can be pretty enjoyable.
