The Veil Movie Review

Thirty years after a charismatic cult leader convinced his followers to kill themselves, a survivor returns to the scene of the horror with a documentary crew.
I somewhat expected this to be a stereotypical horror movie but the story is actually quite intriguing. Yes, much of the acting falls flat and most of the action sequences are extremely cheesy but it does raise a lot of deep spiritual/philosophical questions.
I won’t comment much on Jessica Alba’s performance. She… did an okay job.
If you like movies about cults you might enjoy this but don’t expect anything groundbreaking.
On a scale of 1 tamale to 10 tamales I give The Veil 5 tamales! ūüėé

The Sunset Limited Movie Review

The Sunset Limited is one of those movies that really makes you think about stuff like good versus evil, belief and non-belief, black and white.

The entire movie revolves around a very interesting and deeply philosophical discussion between Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones.

Jones is a nonbeliever, Jackson is a very devout Christian. Both men bring up very valid points as to why they choose to believe in certain things and question other things that pertain to the human condition.

If you like movies that make you think you’ll enjoy The Sunset Limited.

I give it 8.5 out of 10 tamales! ūüėé
